TWD is currently looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer, reporting to the Director of Engineering, Western Canada. This position could be based in either Edmonton or Calgary, AB

Job Responsibilities:

  • Interface with client stakeholders and contractors to plan, specify and design upgrades and additions to process equipment and piping systems
  • Perform site visits to develop and maintain positive client relationships
  • Review and approve piping drawings and other associated documents.
  • Review, select and approve mechanical specifications for processing equipment, pressure vessels, piping systems, components, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, storage tanks and other equipment.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of projects; use engineering knowledge in the planning and executing of assignments
  • Ensure all code requirements are met
  • Mentor and support EIT\xe2\x80\x99s in day to day activities
  • General support to the Mechanical Engineering discipline at TWD \xe2\x80\xa2 Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • 5 \xe2\x80\x93 10 years of professional experience in related field
  • Registered Professional Engineer in AB, SK, or BC. (P. Eng required)
  • Work scope will be broad in nature and a generalist\xe2\x80\x99s background will be advantageous with at least one of the following as a focus in previous experiences: pressure vessels, shell-and-tube heat exchangers, air coolers, rotating equipment, or pipe stress.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Project)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, and experience in a client facing role is strongly preferred
  • On-site refinery, gas processing, chemical processing, upgrading, or pipeline facilities is an asset.
  • Experience leading small projects
  • Experience working with B31.3, B31.1, CSAZ662, CSAB149.3 industry codes and standards.
