Job Description
Aplin has partnered with a Winnipeg-based company to hire a Mechanical Engineer. Reporting directly to the Engineering group, you will be responsible for project-based work.
The Role:
- Responsible for completing designs and quotes for new products on a timely basis.
- Define project tasks and responsibilities for new projects.
- Responsible for outlining timelines on new projects and ensuring projects remain on track.
- Source new vendors and new components and/or materials applicable to the design of new products.
- Participate in cross-functional team activities and meetings as required and assigned.
- Maintain the integrity of the departmental quality requirements and continuous improvement activities through effective day-to-day implementation of procedures.
- Coordinate prototyping and testing of new project products in conjunction with the customer.
- Troubleshoot production line issues and quality issues as required.
- Participate in cross-functional team activities and meetings as required and assigned.
- Post-secondary required in Mechanical Engineering field.
- Required 1-5 years\' experience in manufacturing.
- Strong computer skills, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to read blue prints.
- Background in quoting, estimating, and design work with experience putting together BOMs.
- Strong attention to detail is a must.
- Proficient in CAD and/or Solid Works.
- Proficient in, or the ability to learn, Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
