Mechanical Technologist

to join our design team.

Duties include:

HVAC and Plumbing systems calculation, design and drafting

Coordinate mechanical requirements with other disciplines/Utility agents/City

All phases of project development

Project administration services during construction

Research and carry out development work to upkeep the Company design standards to the latest codes and technologies

The ideal candidate will have:

BCIT diploma or equivalent, in building mechanical systems design

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

Experience with heating and cooling load calculations using Trace Load 700 software.

Experience in Plumbing and HVAC systems design

Experience with the requirements of the British Columbia Building Code and Plumbing Code, ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 62.1 and local municipal by-laws.

Ability to communicate effectively with design team members and with site contractors.

Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Ability to manage projects and work independently with minimal supervision.

High motivation to deal professionally with clients to ensure they are satisfied.

Knowledge of energy modelling will be considered an asset.

Knowledge of energy step code will be considered an asset.

Revit experience and knowledge will be considered an asset.

Electrical design experience and knowledge will be considered as asset.

Remuneration:

Starting salary will depend on relevant work experience and knowledge
