Position:

Full-Time Mechanical Designer

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled

Mechanical Designer

to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with both engineering and manufacturing departments to develop innovative mechanical design solutions for

machine tool and automation projects

. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, creative, and capable of delivering high-quality designs that meet project specifications, timelines, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

Create, modify, and maintain

3D models and detailed drawings

using

AutoCAD

and

SolidWorks

. Prepare

layouts, assemblies, and detail drawings

in alignment with project schedules. Develop

design solutions

that meet customer specifications, cost targets, and delivery timelines. Generate

assembly drawings, detailed part drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs)

to support complete project designs. Select appropriate

materials and components

to achieve optimal design functionality and performance. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure design intent is maintained through manufacturing and assembly.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Degree or diploma

in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

3-5 years of experience

in mechanical design, preferably within automation or machine tool industries. Proven proficiency in

3D modeling and 2D detailing

using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks. Strong understanding of

standard drafting principles

and

industry best practices

. Ability to manage

independent design projects

while contributing effectively within a team environment. Willingness and ability to

travel within Canada and the United States

as required. Knowledge of

automotive powertrain systems

,

finite element analysis (FEA)

, and

GD&T

is considered a strong asset.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 48 per week
