Mechanical Designer, Permanent (Axiomatic Technologies, Canada)

Axiomatic Technologies is a leading designer and manufacturer of electronic controllers and power management converters for industrial customers. Engine control, machine control as well as control of various hydraulic systems are a few of many applications in which our controllers are trusted by customers worldwide. Axiomatic operates out of Canada and Finland.

Axiomatic designs electronic controllers to handle various control functions on machines. Virtually all our controllers need to be in an enclosure of some type to protect the controller, facilitate electrical connections, or to dissipate heat. As part of the Mechanical Design team, the chosen candidate will work on new product development projects. This will involve enclosure design, supplier selection, dealing with heat transfer calculations, vibration management and testing, prototyping plastic enclosures, assembly drawings and assistance in pilots.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, hands-on candidate with excellent communication skills who can work well independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

R&D of mechanical designs from customer specifications Support quality improvement through design improvement Source mechanical components from suppliers and manufacturers Prepare Build of Material (BOM) on mechanical components Build and assemble initial prototypes Provide Marketing and Production assembly drawings Support Production during pilots Maintenance of 3D printer and other equipment
Requirements

Technical degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with 3+ years of work-related experience Knowledge of 3D modeling software tools such as AutoCAD Inventor Excellent written and oral communication skills in technical reporting and supplier interaction Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking Experience with electronic enclosures is considered an asset Work well independently and in team environments

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
