We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Maths Tutor to provide

in-home support

for students in grades 6-9. This part-time position is ideal for an individual passionate about helping children with autism develop their mathematical skills in a supportive and engaging environment.

Responsibilities:

Provide individualized maths tutoring to students in grades 6-9, focusing on their specific learning needs and curriculum requirements. Adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate students with autism, utilizing strengths-based approaches. Foster a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that promotes confidence and academic growth. Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and strategies. Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student achievements.

Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience tutoring maths to students in grades 6-9. Proven experience working with children with autism, understanding their unique learning styles and challenges. Strong knowledge of the Ontario curriculum for grades 6-9 mathematics. Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills. Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans. Relevant educational background (e.g., Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field). Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.

Schedule:

Approximately 5 5+ hours per week, after school (around 4-6 PM). Tutoring sessions will take place at the student's home in Etobicoke.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 10 per week
