Job Summary:

We are looking for a knowledgeable and passionate

Math Tutor

to work with students in a one-on-one or small group setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mathematical concepts and a genuine desire to help students improve their skills, boost their confidence, and achieve academic success. Tutoring may focus on a variety of math topics, including elementary through advanced levels, and possibly test preparation for exams such as the SAT, ACT, or state assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide personalized, one-on-one or small group tutoring in mathematics. Teach a variety of math topics, such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and statistics, depending on student needs. Assist students with homework, assignments, and exam preparation. Develop individualized lesson plans and practice problems based on students' current level and learning goals. Identify areas of improvement and provide targeted instruction to address gaps in understanding. Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and/or parents. Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages academic growth and confidence. Stay up-to-date with math curriculum and teaching methods.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred). Prior experience teaching or tutoring math at various levels (elementary through college). Strong understanding of mathematical principles and problem-solving techniques. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner. Patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for teaching. Familiarity with online tutoring platforms (if tutoring remotely).

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in teaching or tutoring. Experience preparing students for standardized tests (SAT, ACT, etc.). Ability to tutor multiple math levels (e.g., Algebra, Geometry, Calculus). Familiarity with learning management systems or educational software.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
