We are actively seeking a Materials Planning Manager to join our team in Saskatoon, SK. Reporting to the Plant Logistics Manager, this position leads the team of Material planners in the scheduling of required parts and materials with vendors so as to meet production and shipping schedules while maintaining accurate and minimum inventory levels.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and leads cross-functional team of material planners. Leads in the identification of opportunities to meet objectives for creation of value, supply chain improvement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators for measuring effectiveness of team members in achieving service level, inventory, supplier delivery reliability, and cost.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment by developing, implementing and adhering to CNH Industrial safety programs, policies and regulations.
  • To participate in launching and sustaining of new and existing manufacturing products and process.
  • Maintain open communications with suppliers, internal and external customers to keep informed of late deliveries and potential quality problems.
  • Responsible for the developing of contingency plans for late deliveries to enable realistic delivery dates to be transmitted to production for labour planning and shipping requirements.
  • Contact potential suppliers on new parts for estimated delivery to ensure parts availability in order to meet objectives.
  • Analyze trends and advise management of actions to improve supplier performance.
  • Monitor lead times of purchased parts by supplier. Inform management when lead times move out of acceptable and expected time frames.
  • Plans, schedules and monitors in bound movement of materials from suppliers.
  • Determines material requirements and coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering.
  • Compiles data on order volume, production schedules and forecasts, and applies statistical methods to estimate future materials requirements.
  • Coordinates the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
  • Develops policies and procedures to ensure timely flow of materials and for tracking the physical inventory.
  • Focus on process improvement opportunities in assigned areas as it relates to planning, material movement, and inventory investment.
  • Human resource activities such as employee selection, pay administration, employee counselling, training, performance reviews, and the administration of policies.
  • Actively participates in the appropriate management team(s), assisting with the development and realization of strategic plans, organizational development, capital and operating budgets, and other company goals and outcomes.
The annual salary for this role is $84,000-129,000 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

Qualifications

The Qualified Candidate will have:
  • A Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 10 years of materials/logistics experience.
The ideal Candidate will have:
  • An APICS certification.
  • Working experience of Manufacturing control systems, including the cause and effect of actions.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing systems, production control activities, production and inventory management processes.
  • Experience in leading and managing people, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Detailed understanding of material flow, inventory control, production planning and purchasing.
  • Cross-functional experience (Quality, Materials, Engineering).
  • Experience participating and leading Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Ability to analyze data regarding budgets and departmental objectives.
