About Arctic Canadian Diamond Company Arctic Canadian is a Canadian mining company and a significant producer and supplier of premium rough diamond assortments to the global market. The company owns and operates the Ekati Diamond Mine, located in Canada\xe2\x80\x99s Northwest Territories. In addition to its mining and exploration operations, Arctic Canadian has offices in Canada and Belgium.
Position Overview Reporting to the Materials Management Team Leader and working 2 weeks on 2 weeks off schedule at the Ekati mine site. The position will be working in a Warehouse environment and be a part of a physical work setting dealing with climbing, outdoor work, some forklift with a focus on working on SAP cooperating system. Strong communication, interpersonal and computer skills are essential. You will also have the ability to work effectively as a team member and with minimal supervision. The term is approximately May to August.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist Warehouse Technicians with day-to-day operations as required.
  • Process returns to the Warehouse, both physically as well as electronically.
  • Participate in summer projects including but not limited to reorganizing of the Warehouse
  • Execute receiving process for all incoming materials including ensuring match to purchase order and packing slips including, unpacking boxes, counting materials in boxes to ensure accuracy and receive in SAP system.
  • Perform inventory counting in accordance to company inventory counting and audit procedures.
  • Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people\xe2\x80\x99s property and information.
  • Practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and clean worksite.
  • Always protect the safety and well-being of yourself and your co-workers. Follow all Company specific safety protocols and Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Education/Experience
  • Applicants must currently be enrolled in a recognized post-secondary institution in a related field and returning to full time studies in the fall. Include in your resume/cover letter your field, level of study and the number of years you have completed in your program. The successful Summer Student will be provided an opportunity to apply their learnings within a dynamic team and find their work assignments rewarding.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team to achieve best-in-class efficiency and productivity.
  • Strong computer literacy with willingness to learn new computer skills
  • Ability to lift and carry 40lbs.

Additional Information Arctic provides travel to and from the Ekati mine site out of Calgary, Yellowknife, and other northern fly points.
