BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.
BioVectra Inc. has an opening for a Materials Control Associate. This is a permanent, full-time position located in Charlottetown Prince Edward Island, Canada

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Taking direct responsibility for material segregation, quarantine and storage.
  • Staging materials for process work and shipping.
  • Coordinating receipt and storage of WIP, intermediate or finished goods from production.
  • Controlling access to inventory that has not been staged for use or sale/distribution.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records, including bin location and retest/expiry date.
  • Locating inventory and confirming quantity and status.
  • Ensuring FIFO is followed, and documenting under planned deviation when it is not.
  • Reporting over-due action items to management as required.
  • Processing material status updates in a timely manner and ensuring materials remain properly labeled while in storage.
  • Investigating variances, documenting root cause and coordinating CAPA activities.
  • Ensuring warehouse material handling equipment is properly used and maintained.
  • Providing suggestions or recommendations to management aimed at improved safety, quality or business performance and implementing approved changes.
  • Material sampling, as required to support retest system and when necessary day to day operations, especially during peak demand intervals.
  • Supporting waste management systems including storage, handling and record keeping activities.
  • Must be available to work 12 hour rotating shifts.

The successful candidate for this position should have:
  • A minimum 2 years post-secondary education in either logistics/supply chain or chemical technology. Completion of grade 12 with suitable industry experience will also be acceptable.
  • 5-7 years material handling or hands on inventory control experience, preferably in an API manufacturing setting or similar FDA regulated environment. Past supervisory or team leader experience preferred.
  • WHMIS/HMIS and TDG training considered assets.
  • Ability to use a forklift.
