Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Material Handler/Backup Truck Driver with excellent forklift driving experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely loading and unloading trucks and containers, handling materials, and supporting our operations.
Key Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trucks, and containers using forklifts and manual handling.
• Secure loads with strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Perform yard material handling and inventory functions as directed.
• Lift heavy objects manually or with power hoists as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, machines, and equipment.
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment in alignment with EJ's safety standards.
• Read work orders or follow instructions to determine materials to be moved.
• Make local deliveries using a company stake truck when required.
• Maintain accurate truck logs in compliance with Provincial and Federal regulations.
• Inspect truck equipment and supplies before and after use to ensure safety and readiness.
• Assist with securing loads for transport and ensure proper documentation for deliveries.
• Provide reliable support to the primary driver during absences or peak workload periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proven experience operating forklifts (will provide re-certification).
• DZ License with a good driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.

Work Environment

• Exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.
• Moderate noise level typical of manufacturing environments.
