Overview



We are seeking a Material Handler that will play a crucial role in the production process by accurately gathering and preparing materials for assembly. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This role serves as the backup for Senior Material Handler.

Responsibilities



Material Preparation:



Gather and prepare components and materials necessary for the production of electronic assemblies according to specifications and production schedules. Verify the quantities and types of materials required for each job order, ensuring all items are accounted for and in good condition

Kitting Process:



Organize and package kits for assembly, ensuring that all components are correctly labeled and easily accessible for assembly workers. Maintain and document an accurate inventory of materials used in the kitting process, reporting any discrepancies to the Senior Material Handler.

Quality Control:



Conduct thorough checks of materials to ensure compliance with company quality standards and specifications. Identify and report any defective or non-conforming materials to the Quality Lead.

Collaboration and Communication:



Work closely with assembly teams & Senior Material Handler to understand their kitting needs and provide timely support in material preparation. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production schedules, material needs, and any potential issues. Assist the Senior Material Handler to complete cycle counts and year end inventory count.

Data Entry:



Enter finished good assemblies in SAGE and allocate the correct part numbers to maintain accurate inventory records.

Safety and Cleanliness:



Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Keep the kitting area organized and clean, ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly..

Experience



Education:



High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:



Previous experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or a similar role is advantageous, especially in wire harness production.

Skills:



Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and accuracy. Basic math skills for counting and measuring materials. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Good organizational and time management skills. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials is a plus. Ability to cross train to cover for Supply Chain team members, (Shipper/ Receiver & Material Handler) Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:



Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods. Manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.

Working Conditions:



Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and varying temperatures. Follow all safety regulations and protocols to ensure personal and team safety.
