Master: Job detailsJob typePermanentFull Central Coast Marine Services is looking for an experienced small tug captain to join our team.Central Coast Marine Services supports coastal businesses and communities that operate in the Central / North Coast areas including Vancouver Island North, by providing reliable tug and barge freight, equipment, and fuel transportation services to and from remote sites from Knights inlet to Hartley Bay.Specific Skills
- Have minimum 3 years' experience as a Master of a tug towing barges up to including management of the activities of deck and shipboard employees.
- Record vessel's progress, weather, and sea conditions in ship's log
- Abide to regulations in Canadian waters
- Direct and oversee the loading and unloading of cargo/freight
- Control, steer and navigate a vessel in various waterways
- Command and operate vessel barge, equipment etc that transport cargo/freight
- Determine geographical position using navigational instruments, maps and charts
- Outdoors
