As the Marketing and Recruitment Specialist for Haskayne EPD, this position is the driving force behind building awareness, generating engagement, and attracting top-tier participants to EPD programs. The role requires crafting compelling campaigns, managing multi-channel marketing efforts, and showcasing how Haskayne helps leaders grow and succeed.
Under the leadership of the Manager, Marketing and Operations, EPD, this position plays a key role in planning and execution of marketing, communications, and recruitment strategies that deliver measurable results, and engaging with prospective clients and participants, while representing Haskayne EPD with expertise, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
Reporting to EPD's Manager, Marketing & Operations, this position works closely with its peers in the department and collaborates with colleagues within the School and across the University to achieve the desired objectives.
Due to operational requirements, this role works predominantly on-campus, except when attending offsite meetings or events. Primary working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. (35 hours per week); however, due to constantly shifting priorities, flexibility is essential, requiring some evening and weekend hours. This position is part of the AUPE Collective Bargaining Unit.
Summary of Key Responsibilities

The Marketing and Recruitment Specialist is accountable for the coordination of recruitment, lead generation and conversion activities to the meet the team's client acquisition and revenue targets. Projects are to be managed effectively, on schedule, on budget and aligned with Executive Education strategic goals by focusing on the following:
Marketing
In collaboration with the EPD leadership team, developing and executing an annual strategic marketing and communications plan while ensuring adherence to annual marketing budget
Navigating different communication channels and tools such as social media, website, and email campaigns to coordinate marketing and recruitment initiatives
Evolving the marketing and communication initiatives to align with industry best practice and market innovations, identifying opportunities in the business community to showcase EPD
Keeping current with new developments in training and executive development programs and presenting competitive analysis, informing the design and positioning of new programs
Responsible for the development, writing and active editing of Haskayne marketing materials including program brochures, advertising messaging, social media, newsletter, and website content (digital and print)
Working in Adobe suite to create graphics and videos, editing images and updating template layouts while aligning with University of Calgary branding standards
Stakeholder Engagement & Lead Generation
Liaising with the Haskayne MarComm team to ensure alignment with the Haskayne School of Business and University of Calgary key messages and brand standards
Responsible for liaising with external marketing agency and providing project management oversight to ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on brand, and aligned with Executive Education's strategic goals
Liaising with external partners such as vendors, conference, and tradeshow promoters
Developing, coordinating, and executing tactical recruitment initiatives such as information sessions, and regional and national recruitment activities
Promoting and publicly speaking about open enrolment and custom programs at internal and external events including information sessions, industry events, tradeshows, and webinars
Identifying target businesses in a variety of industries with alumni contacts, and other sources as appropriate
Identifying program ambassadors, conducting interviews, formulating quotes, and writing success stories
Responding to candidate inquiries and providing guidance to applicants
Effectively leveraging CRM to capture and manage business development follow-up activities
Liaising with the graduate program recruitment team and others to make appropriate referrals to university services and departments.
Reporting and Data Analytics
Defining, tracking, and reporting on the effectiveness of marketing, lead generation, conversion, and qualification metrics for each program to support enrolment targets through analytics and data mining
Supporting the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) process including calculating Return on Investment (ROI) on all marketing and recruitment initiatives
Conducting regular market and client segmentation analysis to recommend target clients and opportunities
Qualifications / Requirements:
Post-secondary degree in management, business, marketing, or communications (an MBA or master degree considered an asset)
3+ years of progressive experience related to student recruitment, marketing or business development; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and events effectively with rapidly changing priorities
Experience in market research, analyzing marketing analytics, KPI reporting/tracking, and sales, ideally for learning products and services
Excellent written, oral, visual design and presentation skills with demonstrated experience producing a variety of communication for internal or external stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels
Digital marketing experience, including writing and creating e-newsletters, video production/marketing, email campaigns, managing social media channels/communities and administering search engine optimization considered a strong asset
Experienced in the use of Content Marketing, Registration, and CRM systems or business development administration functions, including preparing proposals and presentations an asset
Attention to detail, exceptional organizational, negotiation and interpersonal skills and discipline in follow-through
Professionalism and a strong work ethic, as well as the ability to operate effectively within a dynamic, customer-facing, team environment
Experience working in an adult learning operation or business an asset
