GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

As part of the management team within SaskTel ICT Business Solutions Marketing, this position is accountable for ICT product management, take-to-market direction, Sales support, roadmap and portfolio management, service development, and partner and channel management. This role leads a team of professionals dedicated to translating the corporate vision into industry leading services.

LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABILITIES

People

1. Leads, directs and manages staff to ensure the effective use of HR resources. Maximizes performance by selecting (hire external or promote from within), developing, mentoring and sustaining a high level of expertise among staff. Organize and direct work including prioritizing assignments, establishing objectives, providing regular performance feedback, conducting year end performance appraisals and taking necessary corrective action as may be required. Assists in staff career planning, establishes development and succession plans and ensures relevant HR procedures and policies are followed (provisions of the collective agreement, performance appraisals, discipline, grievance, etc). Accountable for provisioning and managing contracted resources as may be required.

2. Accountable for promoting a productive and positive environment for staff that encourages service excellence, teamwork, initiative and models corporate values. Motivates staff by assigning challenging work, planning and managing internal communications and awareness of corporate direction, mission, plans and activities.
3. Ensures all safety, health, environmental and code of conduct policies, programs and standards are understood and complied with at all times.
4. Proactively identify and action opportunities to increase customer satisfaction (internal and external customers).

Financial

1. Ensure sound financial control within area of responsibility by developing annual operating and capital budgets, monitoring performance to budget and taking action as appropriate. Develops, negotiates and implements contracts for acquisition of goods & services related to area of responsibility.

Innovation

1. Accountable to research, develop, define and implement innovative long and short term plans, policies and objectives in support of SaskTel\xe2\x80\x99s ICT division. Provides expertise to senior management providing education, studies and consulting on opportunities that will impact business strategy. Ensures alignment and integration with the corporate strategic plan and develops plans and operational metrics, including approaches for demonstrating business value.
2. Accountable to proactively identify and action opportunities to improve revenue and growth initiatives, decrease costs, increase customer service levels and increase employee engagement.
3. Accountable to develop opportunities to spark innovation in technology or product service delivery or process improvements.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Accountable for product portfolio performance, which includes revenue, subscribers, profitability, expense management, inventory management, budgeting and forecasting.
2. Develops product and pricing information and training for sales and operations teams so that they can successfully communicate the value proposition, adhering to the SaskTel Brand Promise, and sell the cost benefit, including: features and benefits, competitive comparisons, and ROI logic/calculations for the customer
3. Accountable for the long term health and regeneration of product portfolios through new product/service development and product enhancements.
4. Identifies emerging areas of focus and high quality ideas. Leads cross-functional multi-disciplined teams in the research, evaluation, and, requirement definition for service delivery.
5. Ensures the application of Launch Management best practices for the development and introduction of new products and services. Accountable for completion of the business case including the annual post launch review.
6. Negotiates, establishes and maximizes third party relationships that deliver advantageous results and protect SaskTel\xe2\x80\x99s best interests.
7. Ensures that SaskTel products and pricing are positioned competitively through proactive monitoring and research of the marketplace and competitors. Spearheads timely tactics to counter competitive threats.
8. Defines the ideal customer experience that drives highest customer satisfaction.
9. Ensures products adhere to applicable policies, practices, regulations, and privacy requirements.
10.Accountable for business case development (strategic, financial, operational, customer implications, partnership and new growth objectives) of opportunities on a case by case basis.
11.Creates a highly effective team fluent in current industry trends, technology changes and market conditions.
12.Provides leadership, direction and coaching to inspire, motivate and enable a positive and productive work environment for direct reports and cross-functional teams.
13.Accountable to minimize and mitigate exposure and impact to business critical processes through the effective implementation of Business Continuity Plans and in accordance with responsibilities outlined in the Corporate BCM Policy, the Emergency Operations Procedures and the Emergency Alert Procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor Degree in a related discipline (Engineering, Computer Science, Commerce or equivalent) with 5 years experience or 8 years equivalent work experience.
2. Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated leadership in marketing and portfolio management.
3. Must display strong planning and analytical skills, customer focus, results orientation.
4. Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead, coach, inspire and motivate multiple direct reports.
5. Ability to lead cross functional teams in the integration of activities across the organization.
6. Possesses a high energy level and willingness to work irregular hours in an unpredictable, demanding work environment
7. Ability to integrate marketing, technical and operational considerations while managing projects of high strategic impact and working across divisional boundaries.
8. Demonstrated ability to manage change within a diverse and rapidly changing environment.
9. Demonstrated experience in creative thinking and innovation, influencing and relationship building.
