About our Firm Heer Law specializes in providing intellectual property law, intellectual property litigation, patent agent and trademark agent services. We are an established intellectual property law firm located in downtown Toronto. The firm has experienced strong annual revenue growth over the past four years and anticipates that the firm will again double over the next three years. The Role Heer Law is seeking a highly qualified Marketing Manager who can contribute to our existing programs, participate and drive the development of marketing plans with strategies and tactics to ensure the firm meets or exceeds its objectives and targets. The ideal candidate will have experience in a wide range of marketing functions, including communications, advertising, branding, digital, and social media. Key competencies include superior communication skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, an understanding of marketing, advertising, social media and reputation management. The Marketing Manager must be an organized multitasker, able to handle many diverse projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines and work closely with other team members and external vendors to create the number of prospective clients needed to hit the firm\'s gross revenue goals. Objectives

  • Assist in developing and implementing the firm s marketing strategy
  • Identify and implement process improvements, content, and lead generation activities
  • Prepare marketing activity reports and metrics
  • Compile market research and trends
  • Ensure that all marketing efforts serve the immediate and long-term business goals
Qualifications
  • Proven track record of successfully growing law firms or other professional service firms
  • Experience as a marketing manager, marketing coordinator, marketing assistant or similar position
  • Bachelors degree in business, marketing or communications is preferred
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud, email marketing software and CRMs
  • Digital marketing skills, including the ability to execute the firm s social media strategy on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube
  • Experience in SEO, PPC, content marketing and website traffic analytics is an asset
  • Ability to read and code HTML, CSS and JavaScript without the use of a CMS tool (e.g., Word Press)
  • Ability to complete basic graphic design tasks (e.g., editing images, business card templates and other digital marketing materials)
Responsibilities
  • Executing and coordinating activities related to the firm\'s online presence, including reputation management, website updates, website analytics, content marketing, social media, YouTube, and ranking guide and directory listings
  • Supporting the firm\'s leadership team in establishing and evaluating marketing strategies, setting objectives, organizing promotional presentations, and updating calendars
  • Assisting with editing submitted copy, rewriting, and developing copy as necessary for appropriate style, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and length using the firm\'s style guidelines
  • Assisting with proofing process incorporating suggestions and edits to ensure marketing information is accurate, consistent, and meets strategic goals
  • Managing the firm\'s systems for sending out direct mail such as holiday cards, client satisfaction surveys, thank you cards, etc.
  • Contacting organizations to schedule speaking engagements for the firm\'s lawyers
  • Managing external contractors and vendors
  • Contacting potential new referral sources to schedule marketing call appointments for the firm s lawyers and operating a referral marketing system
  • Researching and coordinating various awards and ranking guides
  • Coordinating events, seminars, client or referral source appreciation receptions
  • Coordinating weekly with team members to ensure all marketing project deadlines are met
