Based in Ottawa, the Marketing Manager will report to the Project Manager - Marketing and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on developing and executing strategic marketing plans for the organization. In addition, the Marketing Manager will serve as the subject matter expert and will also be responsible for branding initiatives and consistencies. They will be responsible for planning and executing marketing documents in line with all branding decisions. What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do: The Marketing Manager will lead and be part of our Marketing, Media, and Communications team with the primary focus of leading all marketing-related activities through various channels. You will:

  • Analyze market trends to determine feasibility and profitability of new or existing offerings; make recommendations based on findings.
  • Develop a marketing plan including branding initiatives consistent with corporate business goals and objectives, develop budgets as required.
  • Maximize brand value through the development of ancillary revenue streams and new opportunities.
  • Ensure all products, services, and other offerings conform to brand identity; conduct ongoing brand management review for company adherence to brand standards.
  • Review with senior management the need to hire additional resources. Manage external resources such as designers, copywriters, etc., as needed to produce marketing collateral in accordance with brand guidelines.
  • Provide support and tools to various internal employees on marketing initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on the status of all marketing programs and initiatives to senior management.
  • Work with promotional partners on any joint marketing activities.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on competitor activities; make recommendations based on findings/opportunities discovered.
  • Disseminate awareness of new marketing initiatives to all staff.
  • Develop understanding of marketing documents needed for business development and create streamlined branded documents as required.

  • You have 5-10+ years experience working as a marketing manager or 10+ years experience as a marketing coordinator or similar.
  • You have an excellent understanding and familiarity with brand building and brand management.
  • You have a proven track record in creating and executing successful brand standards, Internet marketing, and direct marketing programs.
  • Have direct experience with graphic design, Web page management, and other marketing-related software tools. Use of Adobe Suite, specifically InDesign and Illustrator, is a necessity.
  • Knowledge of ethical marketing best practices and associated regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertising, and other Web-focused initiatives.
  • You\xe2\x80\x99ve built a strong knowledge base of competitive analysis methods.
  • You know how to manage freelancers and contractors.
  • Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Be able to deliver marketing updates and/or presentations to a wide range of audiences.
  • You are able to travel when required.
  • You don\xe2\x80\x99t mind working extra hours when required to get the job done.
What You Should Bring: The ideal candidate will have a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or other related program, or demonstrated experience in a related role. Additionally, you should have:
  • High motivation with results-oriented focus.
  • Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to manage and navigate confidential and sensitive data and matters.
  • Demonstrated understanding of brand development and management.
