MARKETING DIRECTOR, BOARD OF DIRECTORS, ALUMNAE THEATRE COMPANY, TORONTO

This is an upaid position on the board of directors.

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING - coordinates an overall organizational strategy to promote productions and public events at Alumnae Theatre to the public and media. She is responsible for the public website. Her marketing team is a Marketing Coordinator or Audience Development Manager (one of whom may be on a short term, part-time contract) and several members who volunteer in different areas of the marketing effort.

The Board meets once monthly. The Director of Marketing will regularly support her team of volunteers as they implement the marketing and audience development strategies.

Alumnae Theatre Company, established in 1918 by women theatre artists seeking equity in the theatre is 99% volunteer run. We produce festivals, productions and workshops. We provide training in all aspects of theatre. With the support of 250 volunteers of all genders, we present over 80 of our own performances annually, managing the historically-designated former firehall at Parliament and King St in Toronto and renting our two theatres to nearly 20 other performing arts groups. All women with an interest in theatre are welcome to take leadership roles by becoming members.

Requirements: - minimum 5 years in marketing or audience development in the arts in Canada
- familiarity with the Torontoarts scene, particularly theatre audiences, bloggers, influencers
- experience in developing a marketing and/or audience development strategy
- knowledge of theatrical terms and protocals
- excellent writing and computer skills
- familiarity with social media in all aspects

- as Alumnnae Theatre is women-run, only those who self-identify as women qualify to be on the board of directors. Our many volunteers, contractors and arts groups include representatives of multiple gende persuasions.
