JOB DESCRIPTION

ROLE: Marketing Copywriter (Online Catalogue)

REPORTS TO: Advertising Manager

As the primary copywriter on the content team, you will be responsible for writing compelling and engaging marketing copy that is optimized for e-commerce and digital channels as well as publishing all finished products to Leons.ca.

Role Expectations:

• Work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment while collaborating with various stakeholders.
• Create compelling content that lives on Leons.ca product description pages.
• Content may be required for alternate various communication channels, which could include Marketing emails; onsite marketing creative, social media marketing, print advertising, etc.
• Track production progress daily and generate progress reports as needed.
• Own all facets of catalogue management and execution in line with business demands.
• Prepare and plan weekly production meetings with Marketing.
• Partner with photographer on all key items requiring photography.
• Partner with Marketing on set development and storage / disposal when needed.
• Participate and contribute to creative brainstorms and reviews
• Coordinate translations and approvals across various departments
• Maintain and update e-commerce content
• Participate and support copy needs for other lines of business as needed

• Excellent creative writing and editing skills
• Copywriting experience preferably in retail, online, or e-commerce - please provide a link to portfolio)
• Strong conceptual thinking
• Ability to understand/apply/maintain the brand tone of voice
• Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or related discipline an asset
• Bilingual (English/French) an asset (but not mandatory)
• Ability to collaborate with a team and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
• Required in-office presence
