The salary range for this position begins at $46,809. At Penguin Random House Canada, our Marketing team is focused on reaching and connecting with readers to help them discover their next favourite book, keeping them updated on the authors they love, and providing reading recommendations based on topics and content they are interested in.Reporting to the Director, Integrated Marketing (currently on parental leave; this role temporarily reports to the Associate Director, Marketing), you will work within the marketing team to support the promotion of our McClelland & Stewart books, authors and brand, as well as work on our Penguin Random House UK and Norton titles, including advertising, audience engagement, and creative direction. In addition, you will also work closely with the Associate Director, Marketing, to support corporate marketing campaigns around key sales moments throughout the year, from idea generation to project management and organic social media.What you\'ll do:

  • Work closely with the Director, Marketing & Publicity for McClelland & Stewart to align on budget, priorities and direction to build cross-channel marketing tactics that support the campaign goals and objectives for our books in Canada, and books we sell and market in the US.
  • Work with our advertising, design, and performance marketing teams to put performance-driven advertising campaigns in-market in front of the intended audiences.
  • Use data and audience insights to find the best possible channels to promote our books regardless of format.
  • Monitor campaign performance and recommend optimizations to best reach our audiences.
  • Manage marketing campaign workflow with an eye to deadlines.
  • Use trends and data to surface marketing opportunities for McClelland & Stewart backlist titles.
  • Work with the Director, Marketing & Publicity for McClelland & Stewart to build creative, always-on campaigns for backlist titles and perennial bestsellers.
  • Working closely with the Associate Director, Marketing, you will be responsible for project management of corporate marketing campaigns aligned with our key selling seasons, including building workback schedules, title solicitation, website management, and organic social media activation.
Experience and knowledge you\'ll bring (qualifications):
  • Experience executing a breadth of marketing campaigns with a variety of messaging and audiences, with a preference for experience in digital and social advertising.
  • Sound copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to adapt your voice for both the channel and the audience.
  • Proven ability to work with design teams to collaborate on the creation of on-brand and audience-centric design assets.
  • An understanding of marketing analytics and data analysis, and experience working on data-led and performance-driven marketing campaigns.
  • Exceptional ability and enthusiasm to work collaboratively across teams and coordinate effectively with multiple colleagues to bring our plans to-market.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills that allow you to manage multiple projects to meet competing deadlines.
  • An inclusive approach to your work, supported by a cultural competency and a proven ability to collaborate with people from across a wide range of diverse backgrounds.
  • A track record of taking responsibility and initiative, paired with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, as part of a larger team.
  • Enhanced knowledge, awareness, and experience with the culture and history of any community that has faced marginalization is considered a plus.

This role will work at least three days per week at our Toronto office located at 320 Front Street West.
