About CAMAL
The Cranbrook Archives, Museum and Landmark Society (CAMAL) oversees the preservation, interpretation, and promotion of local heritage sites including the Cranbrook History Centre and Fort Steele Heritage Town. CAMAL is committed to connecting community and visitors to the history and culture of the region through meaningful programs, engaging exhibits, and dynamic events.
Position Overview
The Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in supporting CAMAL's communications and promotional initiatives. This entry-level position is ideal for a creative, organized, and enthusiastic individual eager to gain experience in marketing within a heritage, tourism, and nonprofit setting.
The successful candidate will assist in coordinating marketing campaigns, social media content and event promotion to help increase visibility and attendance across all CAMAL sites and programs.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
Assist in developing and implementing marketing and communications plans.
Create and schedule engaging content for social media platforms and websites.
Help design digital and print materials such as posters, brochures, newsletters, and ads.
Maintain consistent brand identity across all communications.
Support coordination of photography, videography, and media releases.
Monitor online engagement and provide basic analytics reports.
Promotion
Support the marketing and promotion of CAMAL's public programs, special events, and exhibits.
Assist with event listings, community calendars, and partnerships with local media outlets.
Help coordinate on-site event coverage (photos, live updates, etc.).
Community & Partner Engagement
Assist in maintaining contact lists for media, sponsors, and community partners.
Support sponsorship recognition through social media, newsletters, and on-site materials.
Qualifications & Skills
Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Tourism, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).
Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.).
Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
Interest in heritage, museums, or community development is an asset.
Valid driver's license preferred.
