As Marketing Coordinator, you will plan and execute strategic marketing initiatives across digital and traditional channels. Your focus will be on customer acquisition and retention, vendor relations, product promotion, and brand development, with a deep understanding of the unique needs of the wholesale food distribution sector. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role combining creativity, strategic planning, and data-driven execution.
Key Duties/ Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Market Insights
Develop and implement marketing strategies aligned with business goals
Analyze key customer segments (e.g., independent grocers, restaurants, institutions)
Identify market opportunities and support product category growth
Brand Management & Creative Direction
Ensure brand consistency across all materials and platforms
Oversee creation of marketing assets (catalogues, flyers, signage, etc.)
Use design tools such as Canva, InDesign, Acrobat Pro, and Vimeo to develop visual content
Digital Marketing & Online Presence
Manage company website, social media, and email marketing campaigns
Drive online engagement and lead generation using platforms like Wix, Google Analytics, and Meta Business Suite
Support the growth of the company's digital ordering platform
Campaigns, Promotions & Events
Coordinate product launches, supplier-driven promotions, and seasonal campaigns
Collaborate with the sales team to align promotional efforts
Plan and execute trade shows, product tastings, and customer/employee events
Sales Support & Customer Engagement
Develop marketing tools such as sell sheets, pitch decks, and email templates
Ensure consistent messaging across sales and customer service channels
Monitor customer feedback and market trends to inform strategy
Reporting & Analytics
Track key marketing metrics, including campaign ROI and lead conversion rates
Utilize platforms such as Wix, Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, HubSpot, or Sage Enterprise Intelligence
Conduct competitor analysis and customer surveys
Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field
3+ years of experience in a marketing role (preferably in wholesale, foodservice, or FMCG)
Solid understanding of B2B marketing strategies and distribution channels
Experience with digital marketing tools: Google Ads, Meta Ads, CMS, CRM
Strong project management, copywriting, and communication skills
Creative thinker with strong analytical abilities
Preferred Assets
Experience in food distribution, baking, or wholesale grocery
Familiarity with multicultural food markets or specialty product categories
Knowledge of food preparation, food safety, and related industry standards
Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint) and Sage X3
