Reporting to the Faculty Administrator, Business Administration, this position leads the development and implementation of strategic marketing and communications planning and activities to support a major grant and other related strategic projects. Which will include, managing the tender process for securing a marketing and communications firm to manage advertising and branding for the project, designing promotional documents, developing content for various advertising media and social media posts and publications aimed at generating awareness of the program, its benefits, and successes.
As the communications lead, this position will prepare speaking notes for the Project Lead or other project spokesperson for speaking engagements and events. This position will manage public and media relations for the program, including planning and delivering media events, media releases, as well as responding to ad hoc media requests. As well, this position will liaise with institutional communications groups for shared communications opportunities and streamline institutional communication related to the project.
This position will also be responsible for event planning and coordination , including coordinating and managing all logistics for events to support the grant and other related strategic events. In collaboration with the Schools\xe2\x80\x99 Marketing, Recruitment and Communications team, they will be responsible for organizing and leading the committee for all events, including onsite event management, delegation of tasks, budgeting compliance, catering, IT support, and the facilitation of onsite event management, navigating any issues that may arise.
Under the direction of the Project Lead and Project Manager, this position will provide input to and be responsible for managing the marketing, communications and event budgets for the grant and other related strategic projects, ensuring budget compliance. Position Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in business administration or related area such as public relations or communications, preferably with a specialization in marketing or communications. Combined with 3-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working a communications role would be an asset.
  • Experience in and knowledge of request for proposal for procurement processes
  • Experience in and knowledge of the scope of marketing communications components involved in leading a large scale national campaign
  • Experience utilizing various social media platforms
  • Possess and demonstrate a high level understanding of communications for a large institution
  • Extensive proficiency in MS Office programs;
  • Demonstrated experience leading and organizing events
  • Ability to gather, translate, and analyze data from multiple sources and apply results to develop/generate forecast or to solve reporting needs
  • Demonstrated excellent presentation skills
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proven ability to successfully adapt to change
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, project based work environment and handle multiple, concurrent and competing priorities
  • Ability to work proactively and effectively under pressure to meet deadlines; and solve problems with little or no direction
  • Ability to work independent with minimal supervision and as part of a team environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with various media outlets
  • Experience working in a post-secondary institute is considered an asset
Physical Demands Pay Grade APT 4 Salary Range $61,375 - $82,823 Status Term Work Hours
