Title: Marketing and Communications Placement Student Job Status: Student Placement 40 hours Job Region: All Blue Door Locations Job Summary
Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, the Marketing and Communications Placement Student will support the Blue Door team virtually and support with marketing, web and social media content as well as administrative duties. Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and assist in the production of Blue Door\xe2\x80\x99s marketing and publicity materials. (e.g. brochure, surveys, posters, e-newsletters).
  • Create and update website content.
  • Develop social media graphics and copy.
  • Help manage Blue Door, Construct, and Blue Door\xe2\x80\x99s podcast On the Way Home\xe2\x80\x99s social media accounts by posting, engaging with followers, and increasing the number of followers.
  • Coordinate the production of B-roll and updated photographs of all Blue Door programs.
  • Support with the development of marketing materials, press releases, and communication plans for Blue Door\xe2\x80\x99s 40th anniversary in 2022.
  • Assist with the ordering of marketing materials.
  • Conduct interviews with clients/participants and write impact stories.
  • Develop a list of media and key community contacts to connect with for Blue Door media announcements.

  • Fosters positive and appropriate relationships with clients, colleagues, community partners and volunteers.
  • Provides referrals and follow-up as necessary.
  • Meets with manager on a regular basis and participates in completion of annual performance evaluation.
Occupational Health & Safety

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in Marketing, Public Relations, or equivalent.
  • The ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and written communication skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Proven effective interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • CPR and First Aid Certified.
  • Vulnerable Sector Screening \xe2\x80\x93 police check.
  • Valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license, reliable vehicle and insurance. Ability to travel throughout York Region.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 4 months Salary: $17.00 per hour Schedule:
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
