Marketing Analytics Associate (temporary)

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Market Insights & Strategy, the Marketing Analytics Associate will support both vendor-led and in-house market research activities, including secondary research, to inform strategic decision-making. The incumbent will bring statistical and coding prowess to compliment the market research team through the analysis of datasets from various sources to support the team's innovative approach to delivering meaningful insights. These insights will be used to evaluate potential opportunities and make recommendations to support decision-making.


The Marketing Analytics Associate will support the marketing team by providing real-time and continuous intelligence using marketing analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Meltwater, among others. This role focuses on supporting tactical activities, processing data to support marketing campaign development and measuring performance, other initiatives. Coursework or experience in marketing analytics and a basic understanding of statistics is required. Membership in CRIC or similar organizations, or prior experience in a market research agency, is an asset.



What You'll be Doing




Campaign Monitoring Data aggregation, exploration and analysis, using tools such as Excel, R, or DisplayR Survey programming and administration Supporting the delivery of in-house marketing research projects (e.g., secondary research, focus groups, ethnographies, surveys, etc.) Performing other related projects, duties and initiatives, as assigned.

The successful candidate will also meet the following qualifications:




4-year bachelor's degree (or 3-year diploma/degree + a post grad. certificate and some professional certifications) in Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field + Coursework in project management is an asset
+ Technical training with SQL, Python or R
+ Technical training with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar
Minimum of 1-2 years experience in professional / corporate environment using data analysis tools like Excel; SQL, Python or R. Understanding of market research methods and statistical concepts Familiarity with assembling, analyzing data from disparate sources Experience in an agency environment is an asset Experience with SPSS, DisplayR or similar programs is an asset Questionnaire writing and survey programming (Qualtrics) is a bonus Knowledge of marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Cision, BrandWatch, Meltwater, etc.) is preferred
