Do you like doing behind the scenes work that has a meaningful outcome? Do you have time to share during the summer months? Would you like to support women and families in need while making friendship and community connections? If you said yes to these questions, then we have the perfect volunteer opportunity for YOU! Catholic Social Service\'s Gianna Centre program is currently looking for Market Support Volunteer. The Market at Gianna is a social enterprise that operates year round online, and every Thursday from June to September in a public, outdoor setting. The ideal candidate would be available to volunteer on Tuesday or Thursday on a weekly or bi-weekly basis with a morning shift from 9:00-12:30 or an afternoon shift from 12:00-3:30. If you are someone who enjoys getting the job done & connecting with others, then this volunteer placement might be the right fit for you! What you can expect:
- Help with the set-up/tear down of The Market
- Help support the Gianna Centre clients with customer service and processing payments
- Help with childminding (if applicable) for children aged 6 months - 12 years
- Help with food and product preparation of items to be sold at The Market
- Have fun!
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, respect and a non-judgmental attitude
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Access to diverse Agency training
- Skill based volunteering which allows volunteers to develop their talents
- Creating new relationships by increasing social connections
- Ability to make recommendations for program development
- Quality supervision and support

- Reference letters upon completion of 25 hours or more
