Only Bilingual applicants will be considered.Position SummaryThe Workforce Development unit provides test development, commercialization and proctoring services for the College\xe2\x80\x99s Test of Workplace Essential Skills (TOWES). The primary function of the Test Marker is to mark exams (i.e., TOWES) according to evaluation criteria provided by the testing organization.Position responsibilities and accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Follows the marking administrative procedures and complete marking documentation such as verifying data on answer sheets (dates, locations, names, etc.).
  • Reviews and interprets test taker responses (answers) in relation to a range of acceptable answers (answer key) and assigns a mark of correct or incorrect; questions evaluated may include true/false, multiple choice, short answer, or other.
  • Identifies issues or concerns with the answer key to review and discuss with the administrator (for example, the guide is not clear); brings forth suggestions to the supervisor.
  • Monitors assessment booklets/documentation for possible academic dishonesty (for example, two test taker booklets with similar patterns of incorrect responses).
  • Responsible for entering score sheets into various testing databases.
  • Completes periodic recertification, answer key reviews; make recommendations for changes and updates.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma.
  • Very strong attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of fair and equitable assessment practices.
  • Bilingual (English & French).
  • Must complete marker training and ongoing recertification (training and certification will be employer provided and completed following the commencement of employment).
  • Experience in administrative or education preferred.
