As a division of Grieg Seafood, Grieg Seafood Newfoundland (GSN) is establishing sustainable aquaculture operations in Marystown, in the heart of the Burin Peninsula. To support this continued growth, we are seeking Marine Site Managers to join their team in Marystown. You\'ll play a pivotal role in steering their operations towards success. You\'ll be at the heart of a dynamic team, leading with vision and nurturing a culture of excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a dedicated team, providing guidance and mentorship to Aquaculture Technicians and Assistant Site Managers in their day-to-day operations.
  • Champion safety and sustainability, working closely with Health & Safety teams to develop innovative solutions.
  • Drive operational excellence, ensuring their site operates at peak efficiency and adheres to the highest standards.
  • Be an active participant in shaping their marine strategy through weekly meetings and collaborative planning.
  • Manage resources effectively, overseeing essential tasks like equipment maintenance and operational planning.
  • Uphold the highest standards of fish welfare and environmental stewardship.
  • Utilize your problem-solving approach to oversee various aspects of site management, from feed forecasting to quality control.
  • Engage in environmental monitoring and technology-driven processes to enhance sustainable practices.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
  • A background in Aquaculture or a related field considered an asset.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
  • A comprehensive understanding of salmon operations and biosecurity protocols.
  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude, capable of leading and engaging a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications. FishTalk experience an asset.
  • A commitment to teamwork in a collaborative environment.
  • Efficient time management and organizational skills.
Work Environment:
  • Outdoor setting, immersed in the natural beauty of Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • An active role, combining various physical activities including walking, kneeling, and bending.
  • A unique work schedule offering a balance between work and personal time: Seven days on, followed by seven days off. 80 hours bi-weekly.
