The Manufacturing Technologist role provides hardware and software support to the manufacturing operations, allowing ADL Insulflex to improve our processes and grow to meet customer needs. Job Responsibilities Reporting to the Plant Engineer, carry out maintenance, repairs, and process improvements related to our manufacturing activities. As the need arises, you will also assist with other engineering-related issues and projects around the plant. Specific duties may include: \xc2\xb7 Troubleshooting equipment issues on a day-to-day basis \xc2\xb7 Identifying necessary improvements to safety, reliability, efficiency, and ease of use \xc2\xb7 Routine maintenance tasks around the plant (repairs, checking equipment condition, cleaning filters, etc.) \xc2\xb7 Developing and implementing changes to our plant and equipment \xc2\xb7 Reviewing proposed changes with appropriate stakeholders \xc2\xb7 Identifying parts for purchase \xc2\xb7 Support, setup and maintenance of IT assets (hardware and software) \xc2\xb7 Hardware configuration and setup \xc2\xb7 Soliciting feedback from operators about equipment, processes, etc. \xc2\xb7 Participating in quality processes and creating quality records when required The successful candidate will work in person at the ADL plant at 94 Willmott St in Cobourg, Ontario. Skills The ideal candidate for this position would be: \xc2\xb7 A registered C.E.T. (Certified Engineering Technologist) \xc2\xb7 Familiar with a manufacturing environment \xc2\xb7 Experienced in developing and implementing projects \xc2\xb7 Eager to learn about and work with manufacturing processes, technology and software \xc2\xb7 A persistent problem-solver, ready to work through whatever challenges arise \xc2\xb7 Open to cross-disciplinary projects, working both in and out of their comfort zone \xc2\xb7 Accountable and self-motivated, able to keep projects moving despite uncertainty \xc2\xb7 Good at communicating with operators, stakeholders and management The following software and technologies are used at ADL Insulflex. Experience with these would be a significant asset to candidates: 1. 2D mechanical and/or electrical drawings in AutoCAD LT, including dimensioning and tolerancing 2. 3D modeling in AutoCAD Fusion 360 3. Data collection and experimental design, including gage R&R and statistical analysis 4. Rapid prototyping including 3D printing (FDM) 5. Machine programming using RSLogix and FactoryView Studio 6. Epicor ERP software, which utilizes SQL, C#, REST and related technologies 7. Client-Server architecture using Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection 8. Microsoft Office 9.
