JOB OVERVIEW
The MRO Shops Coordinator reports to the Repair Shops Supervisor and is the primary liaison between Hangar operations and the Shops and Manufacturing Department. The position is responsible to the Hangar operations needs but embedded in the Shops area as the key in-house representative.
The MRO Shops Coordinator will work closely with the Shops Scheduler/Expeditor, Repair Shops Supervisor, and Manufacturing Planners to ensure work requests are actioned in a timely fashion and are quoted correctly & accurately when work can be completed within the shops facilities. This incumbent will allow Hangar staff one-stop shopping in Shops and Manufacturing work and expediting work requirements to meet project deadlines.
The main responsibilities of MRO Shops Coordinator include (but are not limited to) quick response time on work requests from the hangars, ensuring the correct work documentation is received from the hangars, addressing any outstanding technical issues, work with the Shops Supervisor to ensure technical requirements can be achieved, work with the Scheduler/Expeditor to see if the work is able to be completed by the required deadlines, develop a quote, work with Planners when required to plan specialized repairs, order parts and tooling when required to expedite the repairs, and ensure JIRA is utilized and up to date, paperwork is appropriate for the customer, M3 (ERP) is utilized appropriately, and work directly with the customer to support hangar staff.
This role essentially manages the work requests through the entire shop process (potentially managing dozens of parts at any given time). This position is based onsite at our Kelowna location. Successful candidates would have to live or relocate to the Okanagan.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Hangar Liaison

  • Ensure clarity around hangar support specifications & requirements
  • Manage/Audit JIRA work requests to ensure timely response (i.e. next business day acknowledgement & general yes/no evaluation)
  • Provide/Monitor customer quotes to Hangar staff
  • Meet & review quotes, work plans, alternatives with Customers when required / requested
  • Assist with prioritization of work requests
  • Update JIRA to ensure on-time delivery
M3 Management
  • Manages work orders as required
  • Approves and release work orders
  • Ensures work orders are closed when work is completed and returned to the hangar
Technical Documentation
  • Ensures technical data required to complete work is provided by the hangars (based on SRM or other manuals)
  • Ensures certification pathway is available (made repair or Form 1)
Shops & Manufacturing Liaison
  • Works in cooperation with Shops Scheduler to ensure work can be completed in the agreed time frame
  • Works in cooperation with the Shops Supervisor to ensure work techniques are approved and available to meet requested repair work
  • Works with expeditor to ensure parts are moved efficiently between operations and to/from hangar
  • Orders parts and tooling if required to meet deadlines
Manufacturing Planner Liaison
  • Works in cooperation to ensure planning work is expedited and completed on non-standard and complex repair requests

REQUIREMENTS
  • SCA or Aircraft Maintenance Engineer qualification recommended
  • General knowledge of metal forming, heat treating (steels and aluminum), composites, machining, finishing processes, welding, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to interpret Technical Drawings and documentation specifications
  • Strong working knowledge of Transport Canada regulations
  • Detailed understanding of related financial oversight processes
  • Detailed understanding of related KF quality processes
  • Proficient in M3 and MS Office Suite
  • Completion of Leadership & Management training or willingness to complete
  • Dedicated to continuous improvement
