As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Manufacturing Technologist to join our Engineering & Quality Control team. Position Summary:
As a Manufacturing Technologist, you will be responsible for engineering functions related to product design, quality control, and process improvement. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all products meet the highest standards for quality, safety, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
Product Design and Development:
Create accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings for finished goods and raw materials. Collaborate with internal teams to develop new products and ensure manufacturability.
SDS Control:
Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all products and materials. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
ECN System Implementation:
Develop, implement, and manage the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) system. Assist in update routers and Bills of Materials (BOM) as needed to ensure accuracy.
Recycling and Stewardship Reporting:
Assist in annual producer stewardship reporting in Canada, including tracking and reporting recyclable content in compliance with applicable laws.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Assist in monitoring health and safety protocols, conduct safety audits, and ensure compliance across the facility. Organize emergency evacuation drills and facility inspections.
Process Optimization:
Continuously assess and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
Quality Assurance:
Develop and enforce quality control measures, perform product inspections, conduct root cause analysis for defects, and collaborate with teams to drive improvements.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all processes and products meet relevant regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
Additional Duties:
Assist with other tasks as assigned by the V.P. of Operations to support company objectives.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Manufacturing Engineering Technologist or related field.
Experience:
Preference will be given to persons that have experience in engineering in a manufacturing environment.
Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) for 2D and 3D design.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials management.
Experience and understanding of ECN and BOM systems.
Knowledge of Canadian Producer Stewardship reporting and regulations an asset.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Other:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external personnel.
Desire to learn, grow, and develop new skill sets.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis will be an asset to drive continuous improvement.
