We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Technologist with Projects focus, to lead manufacturing projects for the nuclear industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in custom heavy fabrication, combined with project management/coordination skills. This role involves overseeing projects related to manufacturing of components and containers for the nuclear industry from initiation to delivery, ensuring compliance with nuclear industry standards, cost control, and timely execution. This position will report to Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Engineering (planning & execution); includes preparation of manufacturing drawings, travelers, project specific procedures, BOMs, material and outside vendor requisitions and inspection test plans as required by customer contracts
Review project contract documents such as Purchase Orders, Technical Specifications and SOWs
Manage projects from start to closure; facilitate project kickoffs, manufacturing reviews, client meetings, and other project milestones as required
Provide technical assistance for projects as required, such as dispositioning non-conformances, assist production planning, equipment selection and jig/fixture designs
Maintain ERP (Microsoft NAV) for the projects, e.g., create sales orders, item numbers, production orders etc.
Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with customer requirements
Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when necessary to stay on track with scope, cost, and timeline
Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as Estimating, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Accounting and Production; clearly communicating project expectations and needs
Manage risks proactively and implement mitigation plans.
Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for clients, suppliers, and internal teams regarding project status and technical requirements
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance
Ensure all projects comply with nuclear industry regulations or as required by the client (e.g., ASME, CSA, or other applicable standards)
Maintain a strong safety culture and enforce adherence to workplace health and safety regulations
Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
Qualifications & Requirements:

A Degree or College Diploma in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and extensive experience
Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering/project management, preferably in a manufacturing setting; nuclear industry experience is an asset
Project Management or Coordination experience
o
Strong understanding of mechanical design, fabrication, welding, machining, assembly and other metal fabrication processes
CAD and drafting skills required (SolidWorks/PDM); MS Office
Familiarity with ASME nuclear and BPVC codes (e.g., ASME Section III, VIII, CSA N299, ISO 9001, NQA-1) will be considered an asset.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project or similar software).

Pay: $70,102.68-$104,629.17 per year
