About the Role



LJ Welding Automation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technologist to join our Production team, reporting to the Production Manager. This role supports daily manufacturing operations by preparing technical documentation, assisting with production planning, resolving manufacturing issues, and driving continuous process improvement.

This position is ideal for a technically skilled, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys collaborating across engineering, production, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities



Prepare and maintain drawing packages for manufacturing Revise drawings and 3D models in accordance with Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) Distribute PDF and DXF files to vendors as required Assist the Production Manager with production planning and scheduling activities Identify manufacturing issues, perform root cause analysis, and support corrective actions Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and workflow Support documentation related to Bills of Material (BOMs), tolerances, and weldment details Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production and quality objectives

Desired Skills & Qualifications



Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Design Technology Current ASET registration or eligibility for registration Strong understanding of engineered shop drawing standards (ASME Y14), tolerances, weldment detailing, and BOMs Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and drafting Experience with CAD administration systems such as SolidWorks PDM;

CADLink experience considered an asset

Experience working with ERP systems;

Epicor Kinetic experience considered a strong asset

Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
