We are seeking a new member to join our team as:
Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to CHAMPION activities associated with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing to achieve the most effective and efficient way to manufacture products at high quality and reliable levels on a consistent basis. The Manufacturing Engineer will assist Launch Engineers in activities relating to new program launches and engineering changes or as required.
Participate in cross-functional internal Continuous Improvement activities
Analyze through AutoCAD / 3D modeling software and / or Lean methodology to implement optimized cell layouts to improve workflow
Perform time studies, work with process technicians to optimize part de-molding and de-gating to establish optimum cycle times on a continuous basis
Work closely with maintenance to modify / troubleshoot repeatability issues
Ensure that all employees receive proper training and understand all job tasks
Write procedures for new processes
Propose / lead automation of work cells to effectively utilize labor
Ensure lessons learnt from current programs are relayed to Launch Engineers during design and development of secondary equipment concept
Support Launch Engineers during run offs / validation and commissioning of secondary equipment, Run at Rates, and any other pre-production activities
Track SRED (Scientific Research and Experimental Development) hours and complete monthly time sheets
Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, Vision and six axis Robot programming issues
Maintain and modify AutoCAD file of plant layout as required
Work in compliance with Quality Business Operating Systems and health and safety and environmental legislation
Always promote an atmosphere of teamwork
Ensure that a clean and safe work environment is always maintained
Complete any other duties as assigned
Assist in any way to any employee, necessary to promote a successful operation emphasizing customer satisfaction
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor of Engineering degree from a university or three-year Engineering Diploma from College
Professional Engineering Designation is a plus
This position requires the following minimum work experience qualifications:
Four to five years of experience in a manufacturing engineering automotive environment
Knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D modelling software (Solid Works preferred) and Microsoft Office
Basic knowledge of PLC programming, vision systems and 6 axis Robots is an asset
