POSITION SCOPE:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing packaging processes to support new business, as well as modifying existing ones in order to optimize efficiencies and minimize the manufacturing costs. The Manufacturing Engineer will also provide solutions to technical problems and recommendations for improvements in production and manufacturing activities and systems. The Manufacturing Engineer will successfully deliver compliant (financial, regulatory (e.g. cGMPs),safety) product and process designs.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

\xc2\xb7 Lead the design of packaging systems & manufacturing processes.

\xc2\xb7 Optimize packaging/design standards to align with existing and future manufacturing capabilities.

\xc2\xb7 Troubleshoot manufacturing failures, conduct process quality studies.

\xc2\xb7 Troubleshoot and correct problems with packaging designs/process in order to improve production efficiencies/cost.

\xc2\xb7 Provide technical support for existing packaging systems; Analyze BOM\xe2\x80\x99s, deviations in order to proactively address system weaknesses.

\xc2\xb7 In cooperation with the R&D, Engineering and QA team, develop validation documentation and implement validation plans

\xc2\xb7 Manage vendors and consultants to ensure that contracts contain appropriate technical specifications are delivered as required.

\xc2\xb7 Stay current on developments in the field of packaging and control technology

\xc2\xb7 Interface with users, peers, and management to ensure appropriate input and integration of local and corporate standards.

\xc2\xb7 Provide technical expertise during regulatory audits.

\xc2\xb7 Author, review, revise, or approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOP\xe2\x80\x99s) as required.

\xc2\xb7 Participate in site improvement initiatives.

\xc2\xb7 Participate on cross-functional teams, who address specific problems, facilitate discussion and research.

\xc2\xb7 Create process plans, including layout, labour, and hardware selection.

\xc2\xb7 Work with Maintenance to develop spare parts lists and critical consumables.

\xc2\xb7 Create training documents for hardware as well as troubleshooting guides for processes.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 2+ years progressive experience in CPG, pharmaceutical, or food and beverage industry with prior packaging engineering; Must hold a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in related Engineering field required (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial); Experience in Autocad, Solid Works, ERP systems ; Prior experience in a cGMP regulated industry including experience with relevant regulatory requirements; Prior experience leading the design, start-up, troubleshooting and validating of new product development; Project Management experience required; Experience in the Manufacturing setting, with knowledge and experience in electronics, automation, SOP development
