JOB DESCRIPTION:

The job of the Manual Machinist is to produce high precision components, as well as repair & overhaul customer components using various machine tools in accordance with engineering drawings, blueprints, and detailed process instructions. Design and create tools/fixtures to aid with part manufacturing & repair. Maintain shop Equipment such as Machine tools, media blasters and hydraulic/pneumatic test equipment would be an asset.

TASKS/DUTIES:

Efficiently operate manual machines; mill, lathe, surface grinder, etc per all company, safety, quality, and production policies. The ability to perform basic machine maintenance and repairs.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Set-up & operation of manual machinery in a prototype & production environment. Work closely with our internal repair & overhaul department to trouble shoot, modify and repair customer components. Design and manufacture custom tooling, fixtures, working holding & inspection gages. Ability to work as part of a team.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Manual machinist with a minimum of 5 years' job shop experience, technical college diploma or equivalent. The ability to create custom tool and fixtures.

ASSETS:

Experience with setup and operation of a variety of manual machines. Experience with basic tool & cutter grinding.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Technical College or equivalent experience in the field of Manual Machining.
