We are seeking a caring, patient, and knowledgeable

Mandarin Tutor

to support a 5-year-old child with his weekly Mandarin homework and language development. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children, strong Mandarin proficiency, and the ability to teach in a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate way. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on early childhood language learning by providing personalized support in a calm and supportive environment. The tutor will be responsible for helping the child complete his school homework, reinforcing vocabulary and pronunciation, and fostering confidence in speaking and listening.

Duties

Provide

one-on-one Mandarin tutoring

, focusing on homework support and foundational language skills. Reinforce vocabulary, reading, writing (simple characters), pronunciation, and listening comprehension in a playful, age-appropriate manner. Adapt teaching strategies to suit a young learner's developmental stage, attention span, and learning style. Incorporate games, stories, songs, and interactive learning tools to keep the child engaged. Review school materials and ensure homework is completed accurately and confidently. Communicate progress, challenges, and recommendations to parents regularly. Foster a positive, patient, and encouraging learning atmosphere.

Requirements

Fluent Mandarin speaker

(native or near-native proficiency). Experience tutoring or teaching

young children

, ideally in early childhood or kindergarten settings. Ability to make learning

interactive, engaging, and fun

for a 5-year-old. Strong understanding of basic Mandarin literacy suitable for early learners. Patience, reliability, and a caring teaching style. Ability to provide structured yet playful instruction. Prior experience with children who are easily distracted or require gentle redirection is an asset. Must be available
