Job Summary
The Manager provides leadership, support and education for the ongoing implementation of MIS (Management Information Systems) Standards and collection, retrieval, analysis and integrity of workload data and related statistics and reporting of workload data within Eastern Health for allied health and nursing.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the ongoing planning, development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of Workload Measurement Systems (WMS) for nursing and allied health. They will work collaboratively, internally with clinical Managers and Directors, Professional Practice Consultants, HTDM, Decision Support and clinical staff; and will work externally with the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information (NLCHI), the Department of Health and Community Services and information specialists throughout the province to address issues which impact workload measurement and data collection. The individual will also be accountable for providing educational and consultative support for the interpretation and use of workload data and indicators as well as ongoing auditing and monitoring.

Job Qualifications

Education
The successful candidate will be either a Registered Nurse or an Allied Health Professional and have a post-secondary degree in nursing or Allied Health Profession with master's degree preferred.

Experience
A minimum of five years of clinical experience within the last seven working in a health care setting is required.
Experience with project management, change management and workload measurement preferred.

Demonstrated ability to communicate with employees from both clinical and non-clinical areas and with varying levels of experience and expertise
Demonstrated expertise in the application of word processing, spreadsheet, database and graphics and reporting software and systems
Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze information and to evaluate the implication of a course of action or strategy
Experience in project management, change management, coordination and group facilitation
Exercises diplomacy, tact and confidentiality
Provide direction to team member(s)
Able to work independently as a confident analyst, decision maker and problem solver and build consensus among a very diverse group of health care and administrative professionals.
Proven leadership abilities, excellent communication, interpersonal and teambuilding skills.
