The Role

In this role, you will:
  • Manage a detailed statistical reporting system to measure performance compared to the desired benchmarks according to the corporate vision, ensure these are achieved
  • Effectively manage the Underwriting telephony queue management system to ensure customer call performance metrics are achieved.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in underwriting and risk assessment of program applications
  • Lead the investigation, adjustment and review of the underwriting processes for the programs offered by Agricorp
  • Provide expert advice and program leadership by maintaining current awareness of emerging issues, trends and developments in the agriculture and financial industries
  • Embed quality control in all processes and monitor the results to provide feedback to the team to facilitate better adherence to standards
  • Ensure effective planning and allocation of human, financial, technical and physical resources to achieve planned objectives
  • Provide leadership and technical direction to the underwriting team
  • Acquire, develop and manage talent in line with to corporate human resources policies and Agricorp?s core qualities
  • Develop the operational plan for Underwriting and Account Services; co-ordinate with Director, Program Delivery and prepare required monthly/quarterly reports.
  • Develop, manage and monitor budget for Underwriting & Account Services; co-ordinate with the Director, Program Delivery and prepare required reports.
Job status: Permanent

Salary: $85,761 - $100,895 Work status: Full time in office, remote and hybrid work arrangements are available Location: Must live in Ontario to perform this role

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in economics, finance, commerce, agriculture or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7 years? experience in underwriting
  • Proven experience in coaching, mentoring or leading others
  • Experience with operations supervision, including resource management, work scheduling and goal setting, responsibilities
  • Solid experience in managing budgets
  • Proven track record in a high-volume client environment with strong focus on customer service
  • Underwriting experience in a financial, insurance, or government sector is an asset
  • Agricultural experience and specific knowledge of Agricorp?s programs is an asset
