Job Title Manager, Tax Operations



What is the opportunity?

To manage the classification of clients, collection of core tax documentation, production and filing of global tax relief forms to ensure the timely, accurate and efficient relief of withholding taxes on global assets. Acting as a senior operational subject matter expert to our clients, the market regulators, and local Tax Authorities with regards to Regulatory Tax Compliance and Governance. This role requires a high degree of independence providing priority focus on our services and product offering ensuring our clients receive exceptional client experiences.

What will you do?

  • Support the Tax operations management teams in all initiatives to achieve a high standard of excellence for our clients.
  • Maintenance of satisfactory internal and external Audit/Regulatory/Risk ratings and reviews.
  • Mitigation of operational, financial, and reputational risk.
  • Demonstrate high level of competency with the capability to validate overall activities with high level of accuracy.
  • To supervise and assist in the implementation of procedural changes in accordance with new regulations, revenue procedures, and tax advisory communications.
  • To manage the escalation of, and resolution of, any client or sub-custodian issues affecting the efficiency of tax relief mechanisms and the RBC tax offering.
  • To be proactive and encourage the harmonization of the tax advisory, tax reporting, tax documentation, tax processing areas into a single efficient unit.
  • To be proactive in the education of Tax Operations to all internal and external parties.
  • Responsible for Client Due Diligence, attending meetings and satisfying any documentation requirements.
  • Participation in service reviews, representing Tax Operations.
  • To be a Subject Matter Expert in Tax with a full and detailed understanding of complex and unique processing.
  • Immediately escalate all critical issues, potential operational risk events to Associate Director to ensure risk containment and client satisfaction.
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • Diploma/Degree in a related field.
  • 3-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in operational environments.
  • Strong analytical capability with ability to manipulate data to identify trends.
  • Proficiency in MS Office product suite, particularly MS Excel & MS Access.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Discipline in time management, with comfort managing multiple tasks and meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to mentor others, particularly in tax acumen, processes and regulatory requirements
Nice to have
  • Experience in enabling a cross functional team to perform critical tasks within tight deadlines.
