About this opportunity:
The Manager is accountable for overseeing the day-to-day talent acquisition operations aligned to our workforce plan and larger talent strategy and will partner with all levels of leadership across our organization to ensure successful talent fulfillment at the desired time. The Manager will lead the end-to-end talent acquisition practices, technology, service levels and processes to meet the staffing needs across the organization while leading and mentoring a team of Talent Acquisition professionals. This role is responsible for providing oversight, coaching, mentorship and allocating resources in support of attraction and talent fulfillment needs while proactively identifying new solutions and strategies to continuously improve the candidate experience and how we partner with our hiring leaders.

This role will proactively identify future workforce needs and talent fulfillment approaches (internally and externally), develop and assess metrics, evaluate the effectiveness of our talent acquisition programs, while ensuring an understanding of our business strategy and operations.

Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the Talent Excellence Director, HR peers and Sr Business Leaders to ensure delivery and execution of talent fulfillment in line with our workforce plan.

  • Ensure established policies, processes, internal talent practices and talent acquisition strategies are fit for purpose for hiring needs.

  • Ensure team workload is manageable and evaluate performance of Talent Acquisition Partners and Talent Acquisition Analysts.

  • Share metrics and analysis with senior leadership on trends and market conditions.

  • Lead and implement executive Recruitment strategy.

  • Talent Acquisition service delivery model management, enhancements, and communication to partners.

  • Handle local vendor relationships for executive recruitment and sourcing requirements.

  • Trusted partner within the HR function on talent acquisition processes and projects by partnering within HR and other key internal team members.

  • Review nonstandard employment offers.

  • Partner with Compensation in understanding total rewards benchmarks and analysis to be informed as to market conditions to ensure fair and equitable offers are prepared.

  • Assess and continuously improves staffing policies and processes, including talent acquisition, interviewing best practices and new innovative technologies to enhance the candidate and leader experience.

  • Partner with Communications on external branding opportunities.

  • Ensure internal content is relevant for hiring leaders on processes and best practices.

  • Stay informed of trends and innovative talent techniques.

  • May be required to implement tasks and responsibilities not listed in this job description.


Qualifications:

  • University degree/technical diploma in HR and/or related working experience of a minimum of 15 years.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience including capability with mentoring, supporting, and leading effective teams, including employee development.

  • Demonstrable ability to drive programs, lead people through change and meet deliverables in a complex environment.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) (SuccessFactors and/or Workday preferable).

  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making abilities.

  • Proven commitment to diversity and inclusion.

  • Proven resiliency in a fast-paced environment.

  • Extensive understanding of effective leadership principles including leading the development and implementation of best-in-class talent acquisition strategies.

  • The ability to handle contending priorities while maintaining a focus on what needs to be completed and how it applies to the larger strategic model and business needs for Cenovus.
