Reporting to the Senior Manager, Special Projects this position is responsible for managing and overseeing a variety of process and technology improvement initiatives within ATCO Utilities Finance and Accounting. This role includes leading a multifaceted team to identify and assess financial process problems and then to strategize, implement and scale programs to solve these issues. This position must exercise managerial skills and is responsible for engaging with various cross-functional teams within ATCO.

What You Get to Do:

  • Support the Utilities Finance teams with the planning, execution, monitoring of special projects.
  • Oversee project and/or program tasks and timelines to ensure forward movement.
  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional meetings to assess problems and develop solutions.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders across multiple functional areas of ATCO.
  • Apply expertise and innovative thinking to address unique situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex.
  • Develop agile solutions and strategies that are adaptable to varying regulatory requirements.
  • Recommend business priorities, advise on resourcing requirements, and develop roadmaps for implementation and program execution.
  • Ensure appropriate collection, assessment and reporting of information required for planning and decision making.
  • Manage documentation of issues, assessment of alternative solutions and implementation strategies.
  • Oversee individual requests and provide support to the business as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate or college degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in field with progressive related experience.
  • Background in finance and accounting a strong asset.
  • Experience leading multi-stakeholder projects and/or initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others, create alignment and generate commitment to objectives and inspire others to action.
  • Strong customer service skills with an ability to initiate and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage small group of individuals and be able to lead across multiple teams.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, including technical writing skills, and demonstrated ability to establish strong collaborative working relationships.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, coordinate with various levels of management in a large organization.
  • Ability to deliver on multiple competing deadlines, using proven prioritization, troubleshooting, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Possess dynamic leadership skills with a strong desire to mentor and develop team members.
