Come be a part of the team.Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager - Security Operations to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Safety Programs and Security Operations, this role is responsible for overseeing two critical components of our security operations: Event Security Staff, who work during events, and Facility Security Staff, who provide 24/7 coverage. The Manager will ensure the efficient and effective operation of our security teams, and they will play a crucial role in training and supervising staff.

  • Assists with the hiring of all Event Security Staff and Facility Security Staff in conjunction with the Manager, Security Planning.
  • Oversee and provide leadership to both Event Security Staff and Facility Security Staff.
  • Implement and deliver comprehensive training programs for all security personnel as developed by the Manager, Security Planning.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and performance assessments to ensure staff are well-prepared and meet operational standards.
  • Manage 24/7 Facility Security Staff responsible for patrolling, and providing access control at facility entrances.
  • Responsible for the coordination of Facility Security Staff working within the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC), which monitors CCTV systems, CCURE Access Control system, and other building operations systems.
  • Coordinate and supervise Event Security Staff during events, including concerts, games, and other large gatherings.
  • Manage the implementation of security plans, pre-event briefings, and response to security incidents as required.
  • Manage the delivery of emergency response protocols and procedures for safety and security incidents.
  • Act as a key point of contact during safety and security emergencies, collaborating with internal stakeholders, law enforcement, and other relevant entities as required.
  • Participate in tabletop and live exercises as required, including the development of exercises as the subject matter expert in security operations.
  • Ensure that all security operations are in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and league and industry standards.
  • Prepare and submit reports on security incidents, trends, and operational performance to senior management.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professionalism within the security teams.
  • Promote a safe and secure environment for all employees, visitors, and patrons.

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or diploma in a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in security operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience in event security operations is an asset.
  • Knowledge of CCTV systems, access control systems, and emergency response protocols.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with local laws and regulations related to security operations.
