Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Divisional Director, the incumbent is responsible for the identification, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement opportunities in keeping with the organization's strategic priorities. Collaborates with staff in programs throughout the organization to improve quality and safety. Monitors organizational LEAN training and coaches quality improvement teams throughout their process improvement initiatives. Leads process reviews and performance improvement projects that increase system efficiency/capacity and promotes quality and patient safety. Ensures LEAN methodologies are utilized in quality improvement initiatives, as well as PDSA cycles, and evidence-based decision making.

Experience

  • Five years' experience in the development of LEAN/quality/process improvement and risk management initiatives required.
  • Three years experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Experience in customer service, and change management strategies and processes required.
  • Report writing, project design, program evaluation, and evidence-based decision making and delivering training an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Baccalaureate Degree in a related field (Clinical Healthcare discipline, Business, Engineering) required.
  • Masters in Engineering, or Business Administration an asset
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Training/expertise in Quality and Performance Improvement Methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, PDSA) required.
  • Certificate in quality improvement would be an asset.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • LEAN/Six Sigma Black belt certification required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
  • Advanced computer skills including word processing, data management, spreadsheets etc. required.
  • Must possess superior change management, communication, and interpersonal skills that will enable her/him to work as a member of a team, facilitate groups and present information at various levels within the healthcare system.
  • Performs work both independently and as a team member.
  • Promotes good interpersonal relationships by modelling professional behaviour.
