Position Overview

Reporting to the Director, Facility Management, the incumbent assumes the day to day responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the physical plant, in an efficient and effective manner.

Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years progressive management experience, within a unionized environment, preferably in Health Care with a background in building trades and operation.
  • Project management experience would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of the physical plant and facilities services operations of a large, complex institutional facility.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering/trade from an accredited educational institution. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Manitoba Fire College Course in Fire Protection and Emergency Planning is required (or willingness to obtain same).
  • Departmental Management course certification is required (or willingness to obtain same).
  • It is recommended that, at minimum, staff possess the Family & Friends category of CPR training.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Departmental Management course certification is required (or willingness to obtain same).

Physical Requirements
  • Physical health to meet the requirements of the position.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
