Purpose:

The Manager, Risk Management performs a 1B role in supporting the Trade Finance and Correspondent Banking product's key initiatives and by participating in strategic projects to promote regulatory compliance. This requires interaction with business partners and stakeholders, and various Control Functions (including Audit, Operational Risk, Fraud, Compliance, Privacy and Information Security & Control) across the Bank.

  • Provide risk oversight and support to the Trade Finance and Correspondent Banking (1A) teams to ensure reliable risk management processes are in place and aligned with the various Enterprise policies and processes.
  • Actively ensure the adequacy of controls to meet obligations, with respect to Operational risk, Regulatory compliance risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Work collaboratively with Trade finance and Correspondent banking teams (1A) and its key internal partners to identify, assess and document significant operational risks and controls through the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) Program; which is conducted on business units and/or key processes.
  • Assist/ facilitates business lines in risk assessments of new initiatives and ensure that the New Initiative Risk Assessment policy is being followed.
  • Track and monitor completion of action plans; providing guidance to business units on completion of action plans.
  • Track and report contract status, providing guidance to business units on completion of contracts and helping business with updating contracts on the system.
  • Support the Senior Manager on monthly/quarterly operational loss data reporting by ascertaining and documenting the root cause of the incurred losses. In addition, helps impacted business units on developing meaningful action plans.
  • Support and challenge the business units in the development of their KRI program. It also involves monitoring and tracking of KRI breaches; providing consolidated monthly reporting to Global Operational Risk and Senior Management.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the business lines and applicable support and control functions to remain current on new developments and emerging risks.
  • Is Issue tracking and Monitoring and oversee related action plans
  • Provide monthly updates through dashboard to Global Business Payment leadership
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
  • Bachelor degree education in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
  • CAMS certification is an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years of experience in Trade Finance or Correspondent banking.
  • Sound knowledge of Trade Finance and Correspondent banking Products and associated ICC publications and Wolfsberg's guidelines
  • Thorough knowledge of Bank's regulations, policies, procedures, operations, and functions
  • Must maintain a current awareness of regulatory requirements and industry best practices for issues relating to Trade Finance or Correspondent Banking
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
