The Role
We are seeking a
Manager of Communications
to join our leadership team and drive our communication strategy. Reporting to the Vice President Corporate Affairs and Philanthropy, you will shape how our communities, partners, and stakeholders see us--through clear, consistent, and engaging messaging that supports our Purpose and strategic priorities.
This is a hands-on leadership role: you will create compelling content and oversee brand strategy across multiple platforms.

What You'll Do
As the Manager of Communications, your primary responsibility is to support the fund development office. You will also provide communications support to the Human Resources Department and the CEO's office. In this capacity, you will be responsible to:
Develop and deliver high-impact communication strategies that strengthen our Purpose and strategic goals.
Manage and elevate our brand identity across multiple sites and audiences.
Oversee internal and external communications--including digital, print, social media, media relations, and corporate publications.
Lead proactive media outreach and act as spokesperson to strengthen our public profile.
Apply strong writing, editing, and design skills to produce compelling content for diverse platforms.
Explore and integrate emerging tools, including AI, to increase efficiency and impact.

What You Bring
Education & Experience
Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or Journalism (or equivalent education/experience).
7+ years in communications, media/public relations, corporate communications, or marketing.
Experience in non-profit, healthcare, or with older adults/people with disabilities (preferred).
Knowledge of fundraising/fund development writing is an asset.
Skills & Competencies
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling for diverse audiences.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling messages.
Critical thinking, creativity, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and across all levels of staff and leadership.
Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Loomly, Monday.com (or similar).
Strong social media and web content skills; familiarity with AI applications.
Additional Requirements
Reliable transportation, valid BC driver's license, and flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends.
Eligible to work with vulnerable adults under the BC Criminal Records Review Program.
Proof of negative TB screen and immunization status.
