To learn more, visit www.shrinerschildrens.org/CanadaSummary of Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe Manager of Communications is a member of the Shriners Hospitals for Children\'s system wide marketing and communication team with staff in 19 US locations, Mexico City and Montr\xc3\xa9al. Under the direction and supervision of the Senior Regional Director of Marketing and Communications, with collaborative leadership guidance from the hospital administrator, the Manager of Communications is the location leader and is responsible for the Hospital\'s communications, marketing and public relations activities. The incumbent develops and implements the strategic marketing and communications plan to help achieve the goals of Shriners Hospitals for Children - Canada. He/she strategically plans, develops, coordinates and monitors all matters pertaining to media relations, community relations and communication tools.The leader/ incumbent contributes to the development, implementation and assessment of the mission, broad goals, strategies, objectives and priorities of the establishment in concordance and in collaboration with members of the management team. In planning and managing his/her sector of activity, the incumbent takes into account both the orientations of the Shriners Hospitals for Children network and those of the Quebec health and social service network.Main Responsibilities of the Incumbent

  • Provides oversight and coordination of media inquiries, digital media, web content and traditional methods of communication to ensure a consistent, clear and accurate message to present Shriners Hospitals for Children - Canada in a positive and caring light.
  • Manages all marketing and communications initiatives including, but not limited to, budgeting, media relations, writing, editing, digital content (website and social media), internal and external communications.
  • Actively builds and maintains relationships with national (Canada) media outlets, community partners, non-profits and other stakeholders.
  • Provides leadership to the communication team to develop and execute innovative and successful, communications, advertising, marketing plans, and public relations.
  • Develops and oversees digital content and executes Canada and system-wide strategy.
  • Plans and executes a strategic internal communications plan that reinforces company values and promotes transparent communication.
  • Works with the communication team to identify and grow new media opportunities within all platforms.
  • Travels as needed within Canada, and to the U.S. for systemwide education, orientation needs, and Shriners Hospitals for Children marketing and communications conferences.
  • Provides collaborative marketing and communications support to the Donor Development and Business Development Services.
  • Ensures advertising purchases, marketing campaign development and optimization for Qu\xc3\xa9bec and throughout Canada with system wide direction and collaboration.
  • Supports systemwide marketing & communications with communications initiatives and/or projects.
  • Maintains positive relationships and open collaborative communication with members of the Shriners International fraternity in the local market, across Canada, and across the Shriners International network.
  • Fosters teamwork, collaboration, and professional growth within the team locally and systemwide, contributing to a positive work environment and supportive resources.

Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field is required
  • Minimum of seven (7)
...years of experience in communications, marketing or public relations
  • Minimum of three (3) years of management or supervisory experience is required
  • Proven strategic, operational, and technical marketing and communications skills
  • Demonstrated experience designing and executing successful communications and/or marketing /public relations campaigns
  • Strong writing/storytelling experience required
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills in French and English
