Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the managing the team responsible for the full accounting cycle and will report directly to the Controller. The candidate will be responsible for reporting financials correctly, following legal requirements, and recommending improvements to business procedures.
- Supervise accounting team
- Maintain and control the general ledger and various sub-ledgers
- Prepare/post journal entries in internal accounting system
- Performing month-end close processes/financial statement preparation
- Interact with senior management and provide proficiency solutions
- Perform monthly bank reconciliation
- Prepare annual budgets and review monthly

- Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; CPA is an asset
- Public accounting experience would be considered an asset
- Healthcare experience is preferred
- Knowledge of Canadian GAAP and strong knowledge of fundamentals
- 3+ years experience in managing a team
- Strong leadership skills and supervisory experience of other professionals
- Working knowledge of Excel and Word essential
