Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Manager, NL Donor Centre and Production to join our dynamic Donor Centre and Production team.In this role, you will plan, organize, direct, and manage blood products collection, production and distribution of blood products and Plasma Protein and related products to hospitals across Newfoundland and Labrador. You will ensure excellent customer service to hospitals and an excellent donor experience at the collection events. You will maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and Canadian Blood Services (CBS) policies, procedures and practices, in order to meet all regional and corporate objectives. You will be an active participant of the regional Management teams.Formula for success
  • Drawing on your knowledge and experience, you will ensure blood collection, processing and distribution operations are carried out in a safe, compliant, engaging, and cost-effective way.
  • Applying your supervisory experience and knowledge in continuous improvement, you will ensure management processes are in place and are used to monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve operational performance.
  • Leveraging your communication and interpersonal skills, you will create and reinforce the team\xe2\x80\x99s goals in alignment with organizational objectives in addition to being a role model and coach to mentor direct reports in effective problem solving, conflict resolution and other leadership skills.
  • With your strong people skills, you will lead and support the leadership team in celebrating successes and addressing performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Using your collaborative skills, you will plan and lead regular discussions with teams, promote continued information sharing and problem resolution with front line team members.
  • Your excellent attention to detail will be utilized to evaluate resource plans, ensure appropriate resource allocation to the teams and manage the operational budgets and forecasts for the regional collection, production and distribution operations.
  • You will perform duties as Site Radiation Safety Offer or appoints an appropriate designate.
Desired education and skills
  • Minimum 5 years of recent related leadership experience in health care or business-related discipline.
  • A university degree in a relevant health care or business-related discipline would be an asset. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English are essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership and team building skills with the ability to analyze, problem solve, make decisions and resolve conflict.
  • Proven planning, time management, and organizational skills are required.
  • Experience in program management, and human resource management in a unionized environment is required.
  • Financial management, operations management, and quality management are assets.

What you can expect
  • Shifts/hours will vary. You must be flexible to accommodate assigned shifts which are based on operational needs. Shifts include days, evenings, [overnights], weekends, and statutory holidays.
  • Travel requirements \xe2\x80\x93 a valid driver\'s license and vehicle, with the ability to travel.
  • Physical requirements for the role include the ability to lift weight up to 10 kg (22 lbs.).
